When paramedics and first responders attend a patient with a suspected limb fracture they need to immobilise it quickly and safely with minimal pain and additional damage to limb tissues. Compound fractures complicate the situation further.

Existing reusable splinting systems can be bulky, expensive to disinfect properly and often get lost in hospitals after they are removed from patients.

ResQSplint® offers a fast, safe and disposable solution for immobilizing fractured limbs. It is a self contained pack that once activated, remains soft and flexible for a short time allowing it to be gently formed and strapped to the limb. Once set the patient can be safely transported to the emergency room for further examination and treatment. The splint leaves some of the limb exposed allowing the paramedic to monitor perfusion or take a pulse. Once in hospital the splint is easily removed with minimal discomfort.
