Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated graduate to join our team. You will play an important role in supporting delivery of our industry-leading Front End of Innovation (FEI) services, helping to provide actionable, evidenced recommendations to clients from the earliest phases of an innovation enquiry, to some of the world’s largest consumer product, FMCG, and healthcare brands and technology providers.

Empathy and human-centeredness are integral elements of our approach to research and design, as are organisational skills, structured and creative thinking, story-telling, and attention to detail. You must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, be able to multi-task effectively, and be familiar with core market research principles and methods.

You are likely to have studied design, marketing, business, engineering, science, or social sciences in higher education, and may have undertaken work-experience, or be a year or two into a career in a design/brand consultancy, or market research, or client-side in a consumer insight role. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly develop a rapport with new acquaintances, display a natural aptitude for human-centred thinking, and the ability to translate evidence-based research into actionable recommendations, and transform data into effective stories; an ability to understand how people think, and why they make decisions will be central to success!

This varied role will see you working with a multidisciplinary design, research and strategy team, providing support through project management activities, trend analysis, visual language and brand presentations, film making (ethnographic and design led) and translation of insight into product, service and experience concepts. You will hopefully love global travel and will have the chance to immerse yourself in new cultures and places!

You will have:

  • Higher degree in Design, Marketing, Business, Engineering, Science, or a Social Science discipline, 2:1 or above.

  • A familiarity with industry standard market research tools and techniques. Industry accreditations or further educational qualifications that complement a professional user/market research role would be an advantage.

  • An enthusiasm for design and new technologies and understanding of trends.

  • Organised, with the aptitude for structured project management, plus strong analytical and presentation skills. Ability to develop beautifully crafted reports, and succinct, evidence-based recommendations.

  • Clear communicator with an engaging interpersonal style (both on telephone, and face-to-face).

  • Willingness and ability to travel nationwide and overseas is essential. Previous experience in conducting primary and secondary research would be a benefit.

  • Able to work as part of a rapidly growing team to aggressive timescale and with strict attention to quality.

  • Competency on Microsoft office software. Familiarity with Adobe CS software, and/or video editing and graphic software would be an advantage.
