Your work at Cambridge Design Partnership will help some of the biggest companies in the world develop their most important innovations
This is a challenging and exciting role as a Junior Model Maker in our busy product development facility. You will gain experience and expand your model making and workshop skills both on the job and through our training and mentoring programme. You will work in multidisciplinary teams on major international development projects in the medical and consumer sectors.
As part of the technician team you will assist in the building of prototypes and models as well as the manufacture and assembly of lab test rigs. You will be working with our model makers and machinists undertaking hand fabrication, rapid prototyping, moulding, CAD/CAM machining and spray painting. You will also be involved in experimental manufacturing processes and mechanical testing work.
Recently qualified in 3D design, product model making or a practical engineering subject to degree, HND or BTEC level or similar. But practical skills and attitude are most important to us.
A willingness to learn new processes across 3D printing and rapid prototyping, vacuum forming, casting and injection moulding.
Experience of operating workshop machinery, including manual and CNC mills and lathes.
Experience of 3D CAD/CAM would be advantageous.
Ability to work to close tolerances and tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of work.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where every day is different.
Positive attitude to working in teams and ability to work on own initiative.
Bright, conscientious, creative team player, with an ability to demonstrate a hobby or interest with a practical or technical relevance.
