Innovative technology and design partner Cambridge Design Partnership is presenting at two leading European conferences for medical design and manufacturing innovation; MEDTEC Europe on 21-23 April, in Stuttgart, Germany, and recently at MEDTEC UK in London on 3-4 March.

Uri Baruch, Head of Drug Delivery, and James Davies, Senior Consultant, are both speaking at the two events. The conferences bring together medical device companies and advanced technology providers to discuss and share the latest product developments, research and innovations in healthcare. This year, the shows also feature an enhanced education programme which showcases case study led seminars, product demonstrations and panel discussions with industry experts.

At MEDTEC Europe, Uri will give a presentation entitled 'Development and design of a successful prototype' on Day one at 11am, in Hall 3, Forum 1, as part of the Start-up Academy.  His talk will focus on the design and development stages of a start-up business and summarize pre-clinical and early development milestones. Heading Cambridge Design Partnership's drug delivery team, Uri has overseen a variety of successful development projects including auto-injectors, pen-injectors and inhalers, which have enabled major pharmaceutical companies to successfully submit and launch multiple programmes.

James will be speaking in the Additive Manufacturing session, Hall 3, Forum 2 at 1.45pm on Day two of the conference. His presentation, titled ‘The effective use of 3D and AM techniques in the automotive industry: from rapid prototyping to product innovation and high-volume manufacturing’, draws from James’ experience of designing products across a wide range of sectors including the automotive and transport industries, as well as medical, pharmaceutical and consumer.

And at MEDTEC UK, both Uri and James co-presented on Day one in the Innovation Theatre at 9.45am, on ‘Great idea – but can you sell it?’ which highlights the considerations start-ups should undertake to develop a strong business case and ensure the commercial validity of new products.
